Although most managed hosts offer basic levels of systems administration and database administration, few provide truly comprehensive services-even through their "premier" or "platinum" service plans. Hedgehog provides a full suite of managed services so our clients' do not have to worry about any aspect of hosting. Database administration, systems administration, monitoring and analysis are all taken care of by Hedgehog.

Hedgehog provides support of Machine Component Hardware, Operating System (web server administration and root kernel administration) and Software. Hedgehog works with many operating systems, including Windows, Solaris, Free BSD and multiple flavors of Linux.

At Hedgehog, security is a top priority. As such, we work to provide the latest in both physical and network security. All of Hedgehog's sites sit behind a dedicated or shared firewall. Additionally, Hedgehog understands the importance of encryption for those clients who collect sensitive information. We can review your architecture and make suggestions where appropriate. Hedgehog routinely monitors websites, user groups, and industry publications to stay up-to-date on the latest information on security concerns, patches and upgrades. Furthermore, we will install all needed updates and patches.

DOMAIN NAME SERVICES (DNS)

Hedgehog provides a full suite of DNS services to help our clients manage their domains. We provide redundant name servers in multiple networks. Our staff has a strong understanding of how DNS works, as well as the process of registering, transferring, and managing domain names. Hedgehog maintains a low TTL (6 hours or less) so that changes to DNS will take effect promptly. In addition, Hedgehog can lower TTL's to 10 minutes in advance of any planned change to DNS. All DNS hosted through Hedgehog is maintained on both our primary and secondary DNS servers for redundancy. Additional nameservers (up to 4) are also available.

SITE STATISTICS AND REPORTING

Hedgehog currently uses both Urchin and EM7 to provide site statistics. Other products can be used at the client's request. Hedgehog has experience with industry-leading statistical software for all levels of reporting, from simple reports on usage to full reports on individual paths and e-commerce transactions for dynamic, database driven sites.
